When it is time to change something
Four signs a business has outgrown its IT arrangement.
None of these are emergencies on their own. Together they are the reason most companies switch, usually about a year later than they should have.
The same problem keeps coming back
A printer, a mailbox, a VPN that drops every afternoon. Break-fix support closes the ticket and moves on. Nobody is paid to find the cause, so the ticket returns next month with a new number on it.
Nobody can tell you when a backup was last restored
Most businesses have backups running. Far fewer have ever restored one. A backup that has not been tested is an assumption, and you find out which it is on the worst day of the year.
Your insurer is asking questions you cannot answer
Cyber insurance renewals now ask about multi factor authentication, endpoint detection, offsite backups and patch cadence. Answering wrong can void a claim. Answering honestly can raise a premium or lose the policy.
IT spend arrives as surprises
An hourly invoice after every incident makes the worst months the most expensive months. There is no roadmap, no refresh plan, and no way to put a number on next year before it happens.

Who we support
The regulation changes the build.
A dental office and a machine shop both need endpoints patched. Only one has to log every access to a patient record, and only one loses money by the minute when a network switch fails on second shift. We scope from the obligation backwards.

The first 90 days
Switching providers is the part everyone dreads. Here is the whole plan.
You keep working through all of it. Nothing gets cut over without a scheduled window and a rollback.
Phase 1 / Days 1 to 14
Discovery and documentation
We inventory every device, server, licence, domain, firewall and vendor account. Most businesses have never seen this list. It is yours to keep whether or not you continue with us.
- Full asset and licence inventory
- Network and firewall documentation
- Vendor and account handover
- Backup verification and restore test
Phase 2 / Days 15 to 45
Stabilise
Monitoring goes on every endpoint, patching moves onto a schedule, multi factor authentication gets enforced, and the recurring tickets from the last six months get root caused instead of closed.
- Monitoring and endpoint detection deployed
- Patch cycle established
- MFA and conditional access enforced
- Recurring incident root cause
Phase 3 / Days 46 to 90
Harden and plan
Backups get an agreed recovery window. Access gets reviewed and trimmed. Then we put a written twelve month roadmap and refresh budget in front of you, so next year stops being a surprise.
- Recovery objectives agreed and tested
- Access review and least privilege
- Twelve month roadmap and budget
- Compliance gap report where applicable
Where we work
Close enough to be onsite the same day.
Most issues are resolved remotely within minutes. When something needs hands on it, distance matters. We cover Tacoma and the surrounding Pierce County and South Puget Sound corridor, including the Kent Valley industrial belt and the businesses supplying Joint Base Lewis McChord.

Common questions
Answered before you ask.
How is managed IT priced?
A flat monthly fee, almost always per user rather than per device, because one person with a laptop, a phone and a desktop is still one person to support. The number moves with your security requirements, your compliance obligations, your server count and how much onsite work your environment needs. Ask any provider for a written scope alongside the price, since two quotes at the same rate can cover very different things.
What is not included?
Hardware and software you own, project work outside the agreement such as an office move or a major migration, and third party vendor fees. Support for those vendors is included, meaning we deal with your line of business software company on your behalf. Everything excluded is listed in the agreement rather than discovered on an invoice.
Do we have to replace our equipment to start?
No. We work with what you have and put a refresh plan in the roadmap based on age, warranty status and risk. The exception is anything that cannot be secured, such as an operating system past end of support, because leaving it in place puts the rest of the network and often your insurance policy at risk.
We already have someone internal. Does that change things?
That is co-managed IT, and it is a different arrangement rather than a smaller version of the same one. Your internal person keeps the relationships and the institutional knowledge. We provide the monitoring, security tooling, after hours coverage and escalation path that one person cannot provide alone, along with cover when they take leave.
How fast is support?
The target is a live human on your issue within 15 minutes during business hours, with monitoring and critical response running around the clock. Response time and resolution time are different things, and any provider quoting a single number for both is describing an ambition rather than a commitment.
What happens if we want to leave?
You get your documentation, your credentials, your asset inventory and your backups, and we cooperate with the incoming provider. Ask this question of everyone you evaluate, and read the answer in the contract rather than taking it verbally. Data and documentation ownership is where switching providers usually turns painful.
No obligation
Start with the assessment, not the contract.
We document what you actually have, test whether your backups restore, and give you the findings in writing. If you decide to stay where you are, you keep the documentation anyway.
- Full asset and licence inventory
- Backup restore test
- Security gap summary
- Written findings, yours to keep
